What First of all, EuroSat is made for youngsters by youngsters. The members of our team are young people, most of them between 16 and 25 years old. The magazine is all about youth life. You can find more serious articles about youth problems or youth policy, but also sport news, jokes or advices for the best clubs in town. We give special attention to voluntary work and community life. We will show you that almost everything has something to do with youth and that a lot of things are not as boring as you think… The magazine will be published once a month online. We chose for the online version, because internet is an easy way to reach a big audience. Also we have unlimited space and freedom in design. Who The Magazine is published once a month online. Something special is, that there are two versions: one Romanian and one English. This is because the team is not only Romanian, there are also volunteers from countries in Europe and Caucasus. The volunteers are living for 9 months in Romania and are working with youth. They are the ones who look at the things in a different way and this is what their stories makes so interesting. The Romanian journalists are from different communities all over Gorj county. As we told some of them are between 16 and 25 years old. They are beginners in journalism and they already have the responsibility to show you everything that’s happening in their places. There’s a big party in Rovinari? You will hear about it! There is a problem for youth in Tismana? They are the ones who will tell you! Then we didn’t even speak about our translators, the creative team and technical team. Without them this magazine wouldn’t exist. History This EuroSat Youth Magazine is the result of a project that has been started in 2005. This project was made by Youngsters without Borders. The name was ‘EuroSat Networking’ and it was financed by the European Union. The organisation found youngsters from different communities and gave them an intensive training about journalism. Also they signed partnerships with two newspapers, one television station and one radio and made a website. For various reasons they didn’t manage to publish the first newspaper and the EuroSat project took a long, deep sleep. Then we, Arevik Badalyan and Karin Sant, came to Romania and woke up the project. The concept has been changed a bit, but the original website and partners are still in the project. A new team was established and finally, after three years, the first EuroSat was published. |
